As learners prepare to return to school for the new term, the following tips are worth consideration;
1. Of paramount importance is that students must ensure that they complete all holiday assignments before the last week of the holiday.
2. Students with medical conditions and who are on treatment need to ensure that proper advice is obtained from their doctor and all requisite medication is secured before they go back to school.
3. Parents need to ensure that they are ready with finances for school fees before the weekend preceding the re-opening date. Should they have challenges in this regard, they should try to reach out to the school administration to explain their situation and seek additional time to settle such fees even as their child returns to school, so that their (child’s) studies are not interrupted.
4. Parents and their children need to agree, before the weekend preceding the re-opening date, on the basic/must-have back to school shopping, and have it purchased not later than the said weekend.
5. Parents should make provision for daily subsistence (pocket) money, including fare for day scholars, before the re-opening date.
6. Parents must ensure that in addition to the advice that they may have given to their children during the holiday, they impress upon the children, preferably on the eve of the re-opening date, the essence of education and discipline.
