Arsenal have been high-flying in the English Premier League (EPL) since the beginning of 2024, winning, in a row, their first five EPL matches of a calendar year, a feat never achieved before, scoring a whopping 21 goals in the process.
With this excellent form, Arsenal were expected to register a good result away to FC Porto in their first leg of UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matches, more so with Porto not having been in their best domestic form.
However, FC Porto proved to be a different proposition altogether, scoring the solitary goal of the match in the 4th and last minute of stoppage time.
Porto’s victory and their overall performance during the match will certainly give Arsenal something to seriously think about heading into the second leg of their fixture in two weeks’ time.
